The forthcoming epic adventure of the Super Hero Thor spans Marvel’s universe from Asgard to present time Earth. The Thunder God is powerful and reckless, cast to earth by Odin, his father to live and work amongst the Earthlings as a punishment.

Based on comic book history, during the ninth century Thor spent much of his time on Viking raids, we often see the Vikings depicted wearing Thor helmets. However, he lost faith in the Viking cause after seeing a monastery destroyed and the Christian inhabitants killed

After that Thor spent most of his time on Asgard, returning to Earth occasionally to do battle with Loki. Dr Blake/Thor would immediately regain his memory and his powers from his life on Asgard. He lived this dual personality for many years. Over the years he did battle with super-powered threats from Radioactive Man and the Absorbing Man.
His half brother, the other Norse God Loki trying to catch Thor in a trap by matching him up against the Hulk. However, this dastardly ploy only succeeded in uniting a group of Super Heroes who were to become known as The Avengers.
Thor was one of the founder members of The Avengers, fighting battles along side Iron Man, Hercules, The Black Widow, Hawkeye and Captain America.
When Odin was finally killed, slain by Sutur, it was time for Thor, the Thunder God to take on the role from his Sky-Father. He was soon powered with the magical Odinforce he took on the ruler ship of Asgard. He moved Asgard onto Earth.
Thor ruled the planet in a dictatorship fashion, and realising the error of his ways, turned back the clock to leave things as they were. In the meantime, Loki had been busy enlisting the assistance of Sutur in manufacturing weapons to compare with the mighty Thor Hammer, Mjolnir.
Following the Odinforce on a spiritual journey after Loki had conquered Asgard, Thor was to discover the dreadful truth concerning the Ragnarok cycle. This was to be an endless cycle of life and death which had been set up by “Those Who Sit Above in Shadow” for their own amusement.
So the mighty Thor, the Asgardian God of Thunder destroyed the tapestry that bound Asgard and its people by these God like beings.
So ended Thor and the Asgard dimension.
Marvel Comics have been responsible for a galaxy of Super Heroes across numerous generations. Almost too many to mention, but Iron Man and Captain America are very much in the mix with recent movies on the go.
Kenneth Branagh has directed the film due to be released May 2011 called Thor and there will be some awesome costumes around then, with Chris Hemsworth playing the Thunder God.
Odin will be played by Anthony Hopkins a seasoned performer of many Classic Movies. In time for the release, BurgerKing plan to have a Thor kid’s meal on offer and Marvel Animation will release a 26 episode of Thor – Tales of Asgard.
